Amber Pasel, PGA – Director of Golf & Social
Amber joined the Hillcrest team January, 2017 having demonstrated stellar performance in tournament operations, merchandising and customer service. Amber spent the past seven years at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood, Indiana, where she was the Head Golf Professional since 2012. Amber played four years of collegiate golf for Indiana University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Business Administration in 2009. She was selected as the Indiana PGA Merchandiser of the Year in 2015, serves on the Indiana Section PGA Board of Directors and was selected as 1 of 15 PGA- 2017 LEAD representatives for the National PGA of America.
Mark Powers – Golf Course Superintendent
Mark joined Hillcrest in October, 2016 as a consultant for the maintenance department and currently is the acting golf course superintendent. Mark has over 20 years of turf experience. He is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a B.S. of Turf Science in 2000. After graduation Mark started as an Assistant Superintendent (2000-2001) and was quickly promoted to golf course superintendent (2001- 2006). In 2006, Mark took on additional responsibilities as the Assistant General Manager/Golf Course Superintendent (2006-2008) at Wildcat Creek Golf Course in Kokomo, Indiana. Mark relocated to Columbus, Ohio where he was the golf course superintendent of Blackhawk G.C. 2008 -2011. In 2011 the family was again relocated to Batesville Indiana where Mark chose to pursue a different path. He used his experience and expertise in golf course management to form his own business Turf Care Solutions LLC. Here Mark was able to provide clients golf course quality care for their turf.
Alex R. Hunt, PGA – Head Golf Professional
Alex joined the Hillcrest team January, 2019 after spending nine years as the head professional at Dead Horse Golf Course in Knoxville, Tennessee. Alex is a second generation PGA Professional growing up at his father’s course in Hartford City, Indiana. Alex is a 2009 graduate of Methodist’s Golf Management Business program. He has an extensive range of talents, shinning in the areas of merchandising, club fitting, tournament operation, and day to day operations. Alex was nominated for the 2017 and 2018 Merchandiser or the Year and Golf Professional of the Year for the Knoxville Chapter. Alex, his wife and three children are excited to call Indiana home once again!
